The Department has been engaged in studying the role of ultrasonography as a diagnostic imaging modality in respiratory medicine in comparison with conventional radiography. Cases of pleural effusion, empyemas, hyatid disease, mediastinal and lung tumours are studied. Routine diagnostic services are rendered by this Department in the Clinical Research Centre. Presently about 8000 X-'rays and 200 ultrasound tests are done annually. | |||||
